Berry Camp 2018 Last week, Year 5 went to Berry Sport and Recreation centre for five days. We all had an amazing experience! We did lots of fun activities including kayaking, archery, a dark maze, giant inflatable biscuits, rock climbing, vertical challenge and lots more including a huge 15 metre high, 330 metre long cable glide! We also learnt some of the local history of Berry, such as the original location and name of the town, Broughton Creek, located on the banks of the creek of the same name. The town was eventually relocated and renamed Berry after being flooded twice. Prior to this, the Aboriginal people used this area to herd and trap animals for their food. They also created a salt line across the creek using rocks that they used as their fresh water supply. Early settlers also used this as their water supply. Dessert was also a huge hit with everyone! Especially the yummy chocolate mousse! A massive thanks to Mr Mcdonald, Mrs Newcombe, and Mrs Dunne, we couldn't of done it without you guys. | |
